Who are we?

We are fellow explorers seeking wisdom in the Scriptures that have stood the test of time. Here, faith makes room for thought, honest questions, and careful study of God’s Word. We are inspired by the Bible’s vision of a just and compassionate world, where people care for one another and all of creation. At the heart of that vision is the good news proclaimed by Jesus: healing, restoration, and the coming Kingdom of God on earth. Join us on this journey as we seek to rediscover that original good news and share the hope of the Kingdom of God with all humanity.

Who are we?
Who are we?
  • We are fellow explorers who want to seek truth with humility, to follow the Scriptures carefully, and to keep asking how deep their wisdom and witness really go.
  • We welcome all who come in good faith, including longtime Christians, people from other faith backgrounds, those who have been hurt by religion, skeptics, and anyone who is searching with sincerity.
  • We take seriously the invitation, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 1:18). We believe God’s Word invites thought, discernment, honesty, and patient study rather than fear, coercion, or blind submission.
  • We do not belong to any organized religion or denomination. Many of us were once part of popular denominations, but studying the Bible more deeply led us to seek the original good news more carefully in the Scriptures themselves.
  • We would rather be known simply as Christians in the original sense: people who want to proclaim the good news as it is written in the biblical witness.
  • We also have like-minded fellow believers and readers spread across the globe.
What do we believe?
The Holy Bible
  • We believe the Scriptures provide a rational explanation for the present state of humankind, our society, and our world.
  • We see the God of the Bible standing apart from the gods of empire, rulers, emperors, and kings. Again and again, Scripture shows him as the God who hears the cry of ordinary people, the oppressed, the displaced, and the forgotten.
  • We see his distinctive character reflected in the way his Word came to humanity: through unlikely messengers, through people living under domination, through exiles, refugees, prisoners, and communities under pressure.
  • We admire the Bible’s vision of a society that gives priority to people caring for one another and protecting the earth and its vulnerable, in contrast to societies shaped by greed, domination, and systems that enrich the few while burdening the many.
  • We believe the Scriptures illustrate an elaborate plan through which God will bring humanity toward reconciliation, justice, and restoration in a peaceful and renewed world. We see this hope especially in the teachings of Jesus Christ about the Kingdom of God that is to come on the earth.
  • We believe Jesus Christ is the only way to God, and that his ransom sacrifice stands at the center of humankind’s redemption. We believe he is risen from death and will bring justice, peace, healing, and love to all the families of the earth during the promised Times of Restoration of All Things.
Why the name Christianity Original?
Christianity Original
  • The name reflects our desire to return to Christianity in its original form as proclaimed by Jesus and his apostles and as written in the Scriptures.
  • Two thousand years of church history show how much organized religion and political influence have altered Christianity from its earliest witness.
  • We believe the original glorious gospel has often been distorted over the centuries, and that Scripture has too often been used in ways that wound rather than heal. These corruptions were themselves anticipated in the apostolic witness (Acts 20:29-30).
  • We also believe that faithful Christians have existed throughout those centuries, often in obscurity, suffering, or persecution beneath the weight of human empires. As Jesus himself warned, that path has often been narrow (Matthew 7:14).
  • For us, Christianity in its original biblical form is the good news of the redemption of all Adam’s race, the hope of the Times of Restoration of All Things, and the promise of reunion, reconciliation, healing, and the renewal of the earth.
How do we study the Bible?
Bible Study
  • We study the Bible both topically and book by book.
  • We believe Scripture should always be studied and understood in context. Proper exegesis requires attention not only to literary context, but also to the social, economic, political, and cultural setting of the text, its author, and its intended audience.
  • We recommend that epistles be read in one sitting, as one would read a letter or an email, so that the author’s message can be heard as a whole.
  • If verses appear to conflict on a given topic, we believe the original Hebrew and Greek texts should be checked for translation issues, and difficult passages should be weighed carefully against the earliest available manuscript evidence and the wider scriptural context.
  • We seek to test everything (1 Thessalonians 5:21) and not settle for abstract, careless, or exaggerated answers.
  • A comprehensive list of our Bible study practices can be found here.
What is our motive?
Motive - Proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
  • Our goal is to share with everyone the good news of the coming Kingdom of God as proclaimed by Jesus Christ and his apostles: the redemption of humankind from suffering and death, the healing of broken relationships, the restoration of justice, and the renewal of the earth.
  • We want this hope to be heard as good news for all people, not as a message of exclusion, fear, or religious superiority.
  • Ours is a strictly non-commercial endeavor.
  • We seek neither revenue nor profit.
  • We consider every opportunity to share God’s Word a privilege and a blessing.
