Why is this Important?

Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. (1 Corinthians 8:6)

From the Scriptures, we discovered that the LORD (Yahweh, the Father) is God Almighty, and Jesus Christ is His only begotten heavenly Son who loves and serves the Father.  We saw the words of Jesus himself refuting trinitarian theories on Co-Equality and Co-Eternity. We learnt that the Holy Spirit is the Power of God and not a person. And we did find the straightforward non-conflicting meaning of John 1:1. We also noticed that trinitarian ideas result in curious cases like a Fourteenity. And finally we read the history on how and when the concept of a Trinity entered Christian beliefs.

Renowned historian Edward Gibbon (Preface to History of Christianity) says,
‘If Paganism was conquered by Christianity, it is equally true that Christianity was corrupted by Paganism. The pure Deism of the first Christians …was changed, by the Church of Rome, into the incomprehensible dogma of the trinity.
    Many of the pagan tenets, invented by the Egyptians and idealized by Plato, were retained as being worthy of belief’.

• Didn’t Apostle Paul warn the Corinthians not to let their minds ‘be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ’ (2 Cor 11:3 KJV)?
  That’s what happened to Christ during the Dark Ages.
  They complicated him, turned him from the Son of God into God the Son and added another holy Spirit person, turning him into an entity that’s incomprehensible and blasphemous.
• The Scriptures declare, ‘yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live’ (1 Corinthians 8:6) and that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son [Jesus], that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life’ (John 3:16).
  Jesus proved his obedience to God and God exalted him as Lord over all creation (Philippians 2:9-11).

Therefore, let us be careful to acknowledge that the Father alone is God Almighty (Exodus 20:3). That’s what our Lord Jesus, God’s anointed Messiah and high priest, taught us (Mark 12:29).

Turning the singular God Almighty into three persons is an abominable doctrine that has no place in true Christianity.
Let us worship and praise the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father (Ephesians 1:17) and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Phil 2:11).
