  • Anointment of the Holy Spirit

‘For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink’ - 1Corinthians 12:13. What is the meaning of this? Why is the Holy Spirit given to us during our baptism? What did Jesus mention about the purpose of this anointment of the Holy Spirit of God? Is there a difference between baptism with the Holy Spirit and baptism with fire?

  • Baptism

Since the 2nd century, water baptism (Greek: immersion) has been used as a ritual to cleanse past sins and establish a relationship with God. Is that the intention of the original baptisms given by Christ's Apostles? What was the difference between the baptism given by John the Baptist and the one given in the name of Christ? Why does it imply a 'born again' notion? Is this symbolic action even necessary? Can infants be baptized in Christ? What happens when a person takes baptism?

  • Da li mi znamo što obožavamo?

  • Duh protiv Tijela

    Jesus in Gethsemane

  • Pentecostalism

Pentecostalism is a 19th century movement with a main focus on experiencing miraculous gifts of the Holy Spirit like speaking in tongues. Today many think the gift of tongues is to speak unintelligible words because that’s what people see in Pentecostal churches. But was that the case when the Early Church got this spiritual gift? First of all, what was the reason God gave such gifts to the believers? And what was the purpose of other miraculous gifts like healing and personal prophecies?

  • Pentekostalizam

  • Pomazanje Svetim Duhom

“Ta u jednom Duhu svi smo u jedno tijelo kršteni, bilo Židovi, bilo Grci, bilo robovi, bilo slobodni. I svi smo jednim Duhom napojeni.” (1. Kor. 12:13).

  • The Holy Spirit

The third part of the Trinity - the Holy Spirit - is not declared as God anywhere in the Bible. And it was declared God in a Creed only in the 5th century (More on the history later). So what do we know about the Holy Spirit from the Scriptures? What is Spirit first of all? And why is it called Holy? What are the influences of the Holy Spirit? What did Jesus say about the Spirit? Alongwith the answers to these questions, let us also study a bit of Greek grammar along the way.

  • The Spirit vs The Flesh

    Jesus in Gethsemane

“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” Rom 8:5-6. Many think that a mind governed by the flesh refers to sin. But are acts of the flesh just sin alone? No, everything we do is an act of the flesh.

  • Whom to worship?

The Athanasian Creed, widely accepted and followed by present-day Protestant denominations and the Vatican, says the Trinity is to be worshipped. It talks about three Persons of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, but all being one God. Jesus said we need to know what we worship (John 4:22). So it becomes important that we study the Scriptures and try to understand whom the Bible says we need to worship.
